Your Business Doesn’t Have Ten Problems. It Has One.
There’s one bottleneck creating a domino effect everywhere else.
And once you find it? The whole system lifts.
Here’s where most coaches get it wrong: they think they need to overhaul everything. New funnel. New offer. New messaging. But that’s guessing. And guessing is expensive.
You throw money and energy at the wrong thing, get frustrated when it doesn’t work, and then start over.
What if I told you there are only three places your funnel can break?
The Three Funnel Bottlenecks (And How to Spot Yours)
1. Visibility: Not Enough Eyeballs
This is a traffic problem.
Not enough people are seeing your stuff in the first place. Your ads aren’t running. Your organic reach is dead. Nobody’s clicking.
If this is your bottleneck, it doesn’t matter how good your funnel is on the backend—because nobody’s getting into it.
Signs you have a visibility problem:
- Low website traffic
- Low email list growth
- Ads that aren’t getting clicks
- Posts that get zero engagement
If this sounds like you, fixing your messaging or your offer isn’t going to help yet. You need to focus on getting seen first.
2. Connection: People Are Finding You, But Not Sticking Around
This is where most coaches are actually stuck and they don’t realize it.
People ARE finding you. They’re landing on your pages. They’re joining your email list.
But then… nothing.
They’re not opening your emails. They’re not showing up to your webinar. They’re not engaging with your content.
This is a trust and messaging problem.
They found you, but they don’t feel connected to you yet.
Here’s the kicker: most coaches think this is a traffic problem. So they spend more money on ads to get MORE people in… when the real issue is that the people already there don’t feel like you’re talking to them.
Signs this is your problem:
- Low email open rates
- High webinar registration drop-off (people sign up but don’t show)
- Lots of page views but no action
- You’re getting traffic but it feels cold
If this is you, stop trying to get more leads. Start working on your messaging so the leads you already have actually stick around.
3. Conversion: They Love You, But They’re Not Buying
This is when people are showing up, engaging, consuming your content… but not buying.
They love you. They’re opening your emails. They’re showing up to your webinars or calls.
But when it’s time to buy? Crickets.
This is where most coaches panic and think, “My offer must be wrong. I need to change everything.”
But usually? Your offer is fine.
The problem is one of three things:
- Your pre-sell is weak. You’re asking people to buy before they’re ready. You haven’t warmed them up enough or answered their objections.
- Your messaging is misaligned. Your content is talking about one thing, but your offer is solving something else. There’s a disconnect.
- Your call to action isn’t clear. People don’t actually know what to do next. Or they’re confused about what they’re buying.
Signs this is your problem:
- High engagement but low sales
- People love your content but don’t buy
- You’re hearing “I need to think about it” a lot
- Your launch gets lots of interest but few buyers
If this is you, stop creating new offers. Start tightening up how you show the value of working with you and creating FOMO they can’t resist.
Why Most People Guess Wrong About Their Bottleneck
I can’t tell you how many times a client has come to me convinced they have a conversion problem… and it’s actually a connection problem.
Or they think they need more traffic… when really, they need better messaging.
This is why guessing is so expensive.
You fix the wrong thing, see no results, and then think your whole business model is broken.
When really, you were just one tweak away from a breakthrough.
The Homework That Changes Everything
Here’s what I want you to do.
Go look at your numbers. Not your feelings. Your actual data.
Ask yourself:
Visibility: How many people are landing on my pages or joining my list each week?
Connection: Of those people, how many are opening my emails or showing up to my stuff?
Conversion: Of those people, how many are buying?
Write those numbers down.
Because wherever you see the biggest drop-off? That’s your bottleneck.
And that’s where your 1% focus needs to go first.
For example… if you’re doing a live webinar and you’re closing 5% or more of the attendees, you do NOT have a conversion problem.
It’s either engagement or visibility.
Meaning if you can either get more people to sign up AND more people to show up, then imagine if you can close more people in the room… that’s a lot of moola.
What Happens When You Fix the Right Thing
When you identify your actual bottleneck and fix THAT, instead of guessing or blowing everything up magic happens.
The leads you’re already getting start converting.
The audience you already have starts buying.
The funnel you already built starts working.
You don’t need a new business. You need a new focus.
