Welcome back to episode 22! Today is all about podcasting. Whether you have a podcast or looking to start one, today’s guest, Julie Davidson, is THE women when it comes to podcasting. Julie Davidson is a podcast producer, podcast co host and veteran radio personality. She enjoys podcasting because as a consummate connector, she sees how one show can bring together countless people.
“There are just shy of a million podcasts, but there’s not a YOU…” At minute 1:45, Julie shares her journey with us and how she got to be so awesome! Plus, there are so many podcasts but are there too many for others to stand out? Julie gives us her opinion.
“We doubt ourselves because we want to be the best …” At 7:15, we’re talking about how podcasters can decide what to talk about when getting started and how to decide whether your show should be a solo or have a co-host? Julie also shares what to do if you want to ‘breakup’ with your co-host.
“If you bring in people that are compelling and engaging, they’re going to stick with you…” At minute 17:55, I ask Julie how new podcasters find guests and how guests can be a benefit to your podcast. Is there a right method for balancing solo shows and guest interviews? Hear what Julie has to say about that!
“You really have to show appreciation for what they do…” At 29:00, Julie shares tips for pitching someone to come on a podcast. We’re also talking about having a one sheet including what that is, what should be on it and how often to update it.
“I don’t see it as a job, I actually like it, it’s fun!…” At 39:340, Julie tells us why she believes why podcasting is so appealing for business owners. We’re ending the show with Michelle’s Hot Minute where I ask Julie a round of rapid fire questions!
